The experience of silence is good

Dear friends,

Om shanti.  The experience of silence is good. Find the opportunity to go into silence, and in between your times in silence have a spiritual chit-chat or read something inspirational, and then return to your silence.  It’s not just about sitting in silence; it’s about going into the depth of the self and experiencing yourself to be with God.  We are sitting with God and God is sitting with us.  The atmosphere created by that current between the soul and God is very good.

When our attention is drawn within, then we will not be dependent on the situations outside, but our nature and our inner stage will be good.  Let us look at everyone with a sweet vision.  Everyone is sweet.

With love,

BK Janki

Dear Dadi I luv this line " Let us look at everyone with a sweet vision. Everyone is sweet. " "Sab Govind hai, Sab Govind hai " Even by saying this only sometimes I manages myself not to say bad words and not to think bad for anybody.

Diganta: There is a story of a princess who was looking for her pearl necklace, she looked everywhere and couldn't find it.  When she stopped and became still she found that it was around her neck.  We constantly look for peace and happiness outside ourselves whereas actually we already have thoes qualities inside and onece we connect to them we find true peace, happiness and real prosperity. Take time to be with yourself.  Enjoy getting to know your inner qualities.

Sanjay:  We have a practice called 'Traffic Control' where we bring the traffic (thoughts) of our mind to a halt and redirect them in a direction we want them to go.  All too often our minds are racing in many different directions and 'traffic control' helps us to quiten the thoughts and choose thoughts which will uplift myself and others.  This often brings new and positive solutions.  We practice 'traffic control' every hour, just for a few minutes.  This can be done in an incognito way at work and usually brings good results. (try it and see!). It is also a useful practice just before a meeting, so you can collect your thoughts in peace before you begin.  You could also suggest/invite everyone  to join in a moments of silence before having your meeting.

Silence is good. My question is after doing the 7 days meditation course I am not getting any peace of mind (not the TV channel of yours but inner peace). Please or kindly suggest something which will bring joy and prosperity to my life.

Very thoughtful words from Dadi Ji. As the moderator mentioned first and foremost thing to remember to go into silence is to find a peaceful place. Probably that can be early in the morning, say around 4AM. However, Dadi Ji mentioned to find time between your time to go into silence. How do we achieve that during the day when at work?

ved prakash:  Vani comment is useful.  There are many levels to silence.  But an important first step is to find a quite place where you cannot be distracted.  Sit comfortalby and turn your mind away from external matters and reflect on who you really are - a spiritual being of light and peace.  Experience this.  What does it feel like to be a silent and peacful being of light.

For more information contact your local BK center and they will guide you to learn how to meditate.

silent and listen are spelled with same letters. when we become silent can we listen to our inner self. sometimes solutions to most complex situations come when we are silent. with silence comes focus, and with focus, things which were not clear, become clear. though it is difficult to be silent, yet, to be with oneself(GOD ?), introspect and reflect is necessary once in a while.
