Take this one blessing from God: I will not take sorrow from anyone
Dear friend,

Some have called the world at this time the Land of Sorrow. There are many situations and people that cause sorrow. God has many titles. Two that are helpful at this time are “the Remover of Sorrow and the Bestower of Peace.”

Make a commitment, “I should never experience any kind of sorrow.” Many people and situations give sorrow, but I should not take sorrow. Some weak souls say that they don’t give sorrow, but they take sorrow. If you keep sorrow inside you will become sick, or you will become scared, and you won’t know what to say. Take this one blessing from God: I will not take sorrow from anyone.

There could be many causes for taking sorrow, but a mature child of God will say: “it’s okay, my karmic accounts are being cleared at this time, but I will not give sorrow in return or even think about it.” To think about it brings sorrow. Even if someone gives sorrow ten times over, you should not accumulate it. If there is an accumulation of sorrow, you will not be able to remember God. Consider the Father to be yours and you will not experience sorrow. Then you will be able to take virtues and power from God and give to others.

With love,
Dadi Janki

Thanks Dadi,
It's very true that we should not give sorrow to others but at the same time it equally important we should not take any sorrow from others.

Mihir: If it is your duty to carry out such actions, then you
should do it with fairness and love, as a detached observer, with no personal judgment, but with the pure thought of bringing benefit.  Do it in such a way that the offender realizes
his mistake and would not want to commit the same offense again, because of his
own realization.  This would be an act of
mercy where both the one doing his duty and the one receiving the result of his own
actions would experience love and not sorrow; through spiritual understanding.

Dadi, you are correct. But there are some situations when even performing official duties sincerely one may make somebody sorry. If an Income Tax officer catches somebody for tax evasion or a policeman arrests a person for a criminal offense, the arrested persons will certainly be sorry. In such situations what directions would you give.

Yes . . . Thank you Dadi Janki.. It really works when we decide not to take sorrow from others. This decision actually works as a filter wherein we absorb only happiness and filter out sorrow and enrich ourselves and become an observer of the scene.

Sharing only happiness; becomes multifold so as said lets share only the positive things

OmShanti....

I got really inspired by the insights which were given by Dadi Janki. I started watching the program at Astha since two days back and got many new things to know about myself.. Now I know I am the creater and should hold all the responsibilities for myself first then family and then world... From now on I will try to think positive and will not allow any sorrow to get inside my soul.... OmShanti

this is a lovely and powerful thought and practice. even in my 10 years of meditation, i still find myself taking sorrow. dadi's method is one of the best thoughts for me to not allow sorrow to come in my life.

Two other people have been giving me sorrow and I have tried to give sorrow back in return but it just made me feel more sorrow.
