Power of Respect

September 29, 2010

I have to maintain my self-respect and give respect to others. In the giving there is power, in the taking I lose power. For example, if someone respects me today and I take it and tomorrow if they don’t, I will get upset. An illuminating dialogue between Dan Bagley, Professor of Mass Communication and Shireen Chada, Coordinator, Brahma Kumaris.

The murli is a lesson that Brahma Kumaris students all over the world study every morning. It contains knowledge about the soul, the Supreme Soul, and what happens during life on earth. It is spiritual knowledge from God to help us be the best we can be and create the kind of world we would like to live in. Murli class is available to people who have completed an introductory course and are willing to experiment with a spiritual life style.

I feel that this is such an important subject and Shireen is so skillful in her explanations. Seeing the divinity in others is such a beautiful message for us to take into our hearts. I really want to remember to 'find the story' in others so that I can understand them better. Respect for our environment is so crucial now for our continued existence on earth. Namaste.
