The enemy of happiness is wasteful thoughts
Dear Friends,

Om shanti.Do you believe it is possible to feel happy and fulfilled
constantly? It is possible, but it requires that you pay attention. The
enemy of happiness is wasteful thoughts. It is essential to stop thinking
about your past and the past of others. It is also important to stop
seeing the defects of others.Even to think about these weaknesses
creates a karmic account and finishes off your internal good feelings.

So, if you stop yourself from thinking wasteful thoughts, what do you
think about instead? The most elevated place to focus your mind is on
God.First, consider yourself to be a soul, a subtle being of light and a
child of God, and then connect your thoughts with God.Let your mind
create a natural relationship with God and you will experience happiness
and fulfillment. As you make this the habit of your mind and heart, you
will find yourself feeling constantly happy.

With love,

Dadi Janki

You can only change your self.  Your thoughts lead to actions.  Change your thoughts and actions and your karma will change.

Om Shanti It is very very true. Most of us live in the past and waste our energy. I have been watching Bramkumaris programme for the last few weeks and can see the changes in myself. I feel so much peace and harmony in my home. I realised how happy I am in myself and I am going to continue reading and work on with my meditation.

Thank you.

Respected Dadiji thanks very much for a wonderful thought given by you. If everybody read and realised them then this world will become heaven and there will be peace and no wastage of any thing. I have opened this site for the first time and find it strange to read such types of thoughts which give complete peace. Thanks.

Om shanti Dadi, its really very true Dadiji your every word inspiring me a lot, wasteful thoughts can never help us in anyway even then we spend most of the time with wasteful thoughts. From today I'll honestly try to feel happy constantly and i will do this practicaly bcoz we read lot of good things , we listen lot of good things but we never do them practicaly. After doing we can feel whats really true.

Om Shanti. I'm a regular student at Brahma Kumaris and I'm very new there. I enjoy reading words of wisdom written by seniors. I felt my life had change when I start my learning at Brahma Kumaris. I learn to appreciate myself even more and to put aside all the wasteful thoughts. Letting go is very hard. Most of the time, we do not realise that we are actually accumulating rubbish in ourselves when we get angry at what others do, hating them and complaining about them.We cannot change anyone; we just have to adjust ourselves. I'm happy I came to know God. Om Shanti.

Yes, wasteful thought fills us with waste because what we think we do and after doing it again and again it becomes our sanskar (habit).

We should always connect with God (Shiv Baba) in order to purify our thoughts because without connecting with Him, it is not possible to have pure thoughts.

We are like a battery which cannot charge itself and has to connect with energy source which is God.
#8 Sushil 2011-04-06 06:02
Om Shanti. Thanks a lot Dadiji for sharing these precious thoughts. As you said we need to stop seeing weaknesses of others, which is very difficult to do as our mind is habtual of thinking that way. As I have understood, by considering ourselves to be  a soul and connecting to God helps us to see the qualities of other souls and our connection with God also becomes stronger and we can always remain happy by doing this. Thank you so much..
#7 Kumud Mehrotra 2011-04-05 16:27
Connecting with God is very difficult as wasteful thoughts keep on dwelling in the mind off and on. It is the meditation and or concentration which can empty the mind of obnoxious thoughts and pave way for good and positive thinking
#6 Maruthi 2011-04-05 12:28
Dear dadi,
Thanks for the sweet message. God has given us the wonderful instrument called mind. This instrument has tremendous power in it. It is left to us about how to use it. Whether to use it for good constructive purpose or not.
Mind is not your enemy, be always positive then automatically everything around you starts to appear like heaven.
om shanthi..
#5 Saroj Kumar Das 2011-04-05 04:06
This is very true and is giving us right direction to engage our mind and to make
it under our control. This will also give
a positive aura around us, which in turn
always lead us towards the ultimate truth
of life and we will be always be happy.
Thanks Dadiji,

It is said: your mind is your biggest enemy!
Yes we should all focus our mind on God to get away from wasteful thoughts, but it is easier said than done! How can this culprit mind can focus on God, who has given us this life? So I enter into great confusion. Maybe there is some way out - I am not aware till now.
