Serve others by helping them to smile
Dear Friend,

Om shanti. One of the ways you can serve others is to help them to smile, but this is not as easy as it may sound. Some have such a character that neither do they smile, nor do they allow others to smile.
For us to be able to help others to smile, we have to smile from the inside. We develop our “inner smile” by spending time in solitude and silence. It doesn’t matter how many people you live with or how many are around you, remain introverted; remain in solitude and silence as much as possible. And remain linked to God.

This close connection will remind you that everything that unfolds in life is ultimately good. It will allow you to stop making small things into big things. You will find the pace of your thoughts slowing down.
You will think little and think well and will be able to keep your intellect with the Father. You will experience everything to be good, and you will keep smiling. In this way you will serve others by teaching them to smile.

With love,

BK Janki

Komal Grover:  Thank you for your comments this
is quite a common aspect of human nature and we have responded to this
before.  Perhaps you would like to look
at some of the postings. Expectations can never be fulfilled, whenever you
expect something from someone try at that moment to accept them as they are,
remember everyone is unique and may not think in the same way as you – change
expecting into accepting. If you do it, this practice will bring you a lot of
contentment.

Indervir Kaur,

As you say it is very easy to speak, however, power comes
from following what it is that we say.
For this we need understanding, practice, and commitment.  If our aim is to be peaceful, then we need to
think about what it feels like to be peaceful and how can we attain this state
of being; what do we need to do to accomplish it? Perhaps you could try this
exercise:  First thing in the morning,
give yourself an aim – today I am going to experience myself as a peaceful
being.  Keep this aim with you as you go
about your day.  At the end of the day
spend a little time in reflection and see how much you were able to do
this.  Recognize even the smallest
accomplishment and build on it the following day, and the day after . . .

Don’t lose hope in yourself, you are Gods child, God is here
to help, as you remember God feel His/Her love, support, and power.  There is extra power when we do things as
soon as we think about them.  Try this
exercise now and see the result.

Manvi Verma, an answer to your question:

With practice . . .and with understanding.  The only person we can change is ourselves.  By focusing on ourselves and, as Dadi says, by
spending time in solitude and silence our “inner smile” will develop and our
focus will be drawn away from judging others, naturally.  When we find this difficult, we can connect to our
powerful Friend, God.  He is always there
to help, and in silence we hear.

very true!!!!!! and if we are in present then we can actually practice it!! no matter how big a situation is, if you are in your present, not thinking about past or future... then you can smile throughout the day...not just smile but... an inner smile--inner happiness, contentment!

This is, indeed, a message that can help the heart to explore the very purpose of human existence. i.e., LOVE ALL AND SERVE ALL, not just in theory, but in practice. It will help man explore beyond the traditional horizon where peace, serenity and divinity resides. That is the abode of THE ALMIGHTY. It is no where else, but within our self.
With Love
